Top 5 budget friendly face masks that actually work

Hello all you gorgeous, flesh covered, bundles of beauty.

In this post i’m going to share with you some of my favorite budget friendly face masks.
I have the most annoying skin type, combination that can be sensitive, so I need to use different masks for the different needs of my skin.

I’ll start with my most recent find and that is the Organic skincare doctor snail gel moisture mask

  •  You can get this from Holland & Barrett
  • This is one of my more pricey masks at £1.99 for a sachet or about £15-£20 for a 50ml pot
  • Best for any skin type

Even though this mask is good for all skin types it may not be the best for everyone. Not during but after use it can cause the skin to go red and have a slight sunburn feel to it. So if you don’t like a heated mask or the ‘sunburn’ feel then this one isn’t for you.
The ‘sunburn’ feel and redness only lasts up to about an hour after, for this reason I like to keep this one for times i’m not leaving the house or before bed. It leaves the skin feeling like a baby’s bum and looking noticeably radiant.

This one is another Organic skincare dotor product
and it is the dead sea mineral bio-plasma mud mask

  • Again you can get this from Holland & Barrett
  • For £3.99
  • This one is best for oily to combination skin

I dont know if this is just me beacuse my skin can be a bit senstive but this one can burn a little when first applied. It is a mud mask so its best for those with oily skin or oily areas of skin as it gets into the pores and removes excess oil which will prevent blackheads and spots. I dont use this one too often but definatly noticed a difference after using.

Another mud mask I absolutely love
and it’s the mudd (not a typo) original mask

  • I originally got this from Asda but they stopped selling it now which is annoyingly infuriating! So now I order from Ebay (ahh good old Ebay)
  • I get 12 10ml packs for about £3 and that is the cheapest I can find
  • Its best for oily to combination skin

I LOVE this mask, so much so i’ve completely run out and need to repurchase ( I couldn’t help myself and i’ve just bought more, it’s now on its way eeeeeek!). I don’t know what it is about the feel of this mask but I just really like the consistency and the way it glides on the skin. Even though clay/mud is initially used for oily skin types this for me is a good all rounder, giving my skin a fresh feel and brighter appearance after use.

I just had to metion one of these
Shhh! London blackhead peel off mask

  • I got mine from ebay ages ago so now I can’t find this brand for a price but they are all the same thing basically
  •  If you don’t mind waiting a few weeks then you can get this for as little as £1 from China, otherwise they vary in price.
  • Best for oily, acne and blackhead prone skin

This mask is very good for getting those pesky  little blackheads. This keeps the skin clear of built up oils and dead skin which can cause acne. As it’s not possible to reduce the size or get rid of pores this is a good product to help reduce the appearance of large pores.
Even though it won’t get every blackhead, you can always use a condone/blackhead remover to get the stubborn ones that are left.
You can also make your own peel off mask at home with some pva glue and activated charcoal, I have tried this method before and I would just stick to the bottle because I didn’t see much of a difference and it can be messy making the mask plus it took forever to dry. But just because something doesn’t work for me, doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work for you.
Its definitely worth a try.

I couldn’t make this list about skin care and not mention an nspa product
nspa intense hydration overnight mask

  • I get this from Asda
  • For about £6
  • It’s good for all skin types, even sensitive

This isn’t your conventional mask where you wear it for 10-15 minutes and wash it off. This one is more like a rich moisturiser. You apply it before going to bed and wake up with a face that looks completely replenished and radiant. I love the look of my skin after using this and for me it only took one use to see the effects. I have repurchased this a few times.

I sometimes also like to use a homemade mask made from various ingredients found in the kitchen. There are so many good things for your skin in raw ingredients such as coconut oil, olive oil, eggs, yogurt, honey, fruits and vegetables (FYI lemon juice is a amazing for brightening the skin) and there are so many different recipes to try for skins needs.

Here is a link for a couple of recipes for you to check out if your interested.

I hope you are having the best weekend!
